The quality is fantastic! Heavy duty zippers and strong stitching. I purchased this purse because I'm a mom and I got tired of feeling like a pack mule taking a purse and diaper bag everywhere I hauled the little ones.
I had previously gone to using a hobo bag but the purse became known as "the abyss." It was simply too big and you almost had to upturn the thing to find the item you were looking for. This bag, though slightly smaller than my hobo works because it is thinner. My checkbook wallet, sunglasses case, makeup tote, a sippy cup, diaper (3), and thin diaper wipe box all fit vertically. The pockets along the side are large enough to accommodate my iPhone (while in its clunky otter box defender case) and since there are several pockets on both sides of the interior compartment- all the this-n-that's you collect durning the day fit in nicely as well.
I was skeptical about the fold-over style thinking the the part that folded was just wasted space. The fold-over allows the purse to accommodate the randomly tall item you may want to haul or if you went shopping and had a small bag you wanted to stuff in the purse. Best of all it doesn't look wonky if you do- the thickness of the leather keeps the bag looking nice no matter what you pack into it.
The only design problem I have is with the handle straps at the top of the bag, they are only large enough to carry with your hand. The opening is too small to pull the bag all the way up to the shoulder. So in effect the only comfortable way to carry the bag is with the shoulder strap.
The other slight issue I have is the coloring... The bag I received is darker in coloring than the photo..which actually looks great...however given the dark dye on the suede stripe...I'm fearful the bag may stain my clothing through rub off... It hasn't happen yet but it is something to think about.
